We aim to break 11 World Records during the journey, that’s four more than Michael Phelps set in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The highlight of them all is to complete the Fastest Human Powered Circumnavigation by ExplorersWeb standards.

To achieve that I will have to travel round the entire world inside the current record time set by Erden Eruc who completed the journey in 5 years and 11 days. Erden was completely unassisted during his round the world journey, an incredible achievement and a huge inspiration.

Lap the World aims to set new Guinness World Records as well as breaking existing records, as we aim to be the first mixed team to row from mainland Africa to mainland South America and several Guinness World record firsts as a team rowing across the Pacific.

If successful, I hope to arrive back in the UK with a collection of 9 Guinness World Records and 2 ExplorersWeb World Records.

The aim of Lap the World is to raise £240,000 and every single penny donated will go to Macmillan, not towards expedition costs.
